The St. Louis City Democratic Central Committee is the elected body consisting of one Committeewoman and one Committeeman from each of the 28 wards in St. Louis City.
We are tasked with building a strong party organization within the city of St. Louis and working to get Democrats elected up and down the party ticket in every election.

Committee Leadership

Every 2 years the Central Committee Reorganizes and elects a new slate of leaders to serve on the Executive Committee. Below are our leaders, elected for the 2018 term.

Carolyn McMahon | Secretary

Ward 24 | Serving Since: 2020

Carolyn McMahon has lived in the 24th Ward since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising and Graphic Design currently employed as Associate Creative Director for an advertising agency in downtown Saint Louis. She is a Notary Public working with political initiatives and an active volunteer with several reproductive justice organizations. She is a longtime volunteer with a community outreach program providing food and supplies to our unhoused and struggling neighbors. Carolyn is a member of the Clifton Heights Neighborhood Association, founding member and Past-President of the 24th Ward Progressive Democrats.

Karla May | Chair

Committeewoman Karla May is the current Senator of the 4th Dist. She was elected Senator 2018 after serving 8 years as a Representative of the State House of Missouri in the 84th Dist.

Rasheen Aldridge | Vice-Chair

Ward 5 | Serving Since: 2016

Rasheen Lamont Aldridge Jr, a Progressive Democrat, was born and raised in the 5th Ward of the City of St. Louis. He was a leader in the local Fight For 15 movement known as Show Me 15. Aldridge was an activist during the Ferguson uprising, and was later appointed by Gov. Nixon to serve on the Ferguson Commission. He met with President Obama in 2014 to discuss community & policing relationships. Aldridge ran for 5th Ward Committeeman during the 2016 Primary Election & won in a Special Election making him the youngest elected official in St. Louis City history. He was elected State Rep of the 78th Dist in 2019.
