Matt Bell
Matt Bell is a proud City Democrat and karaoke enthusiast living in the Southampton neighborhood.
Matt graduated from Washington University Law School in 2014 and spent the first four years of his legal career as a Public Defender in the City, representing hundreds of indigent clients facing misdemeanor and felony at the trial and appellate levels. Now in private practice, Matt has fought for clients all over Eastern Missouri, from defending traffic tickets to arguing at the Missouri Supreme Court. He has also volunteered to provide legal services to tune protest community since the Ferguson protests, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Wash. U. Law, helping international students learn American legal methods, research, and writing.
Before law school, Matt worked on Democratic political campaigns throughout the country, organizing volunteer and paid voter outreach programs in Kentucky, New Jersey, Indiana, and Maryland. Matt strongly believes in the power of the grassroots, and the vital need for our Party to engage voters in every zip code, ward, and precinct in the City.
